Best head for ls6 383 stroaker?

Default Best head for ls6 383 stroaker?

I'm workin on building my ls6 to 383 stroke 4 callies crank what head should I run on it There -12cc pistons I believe shoul I go with some patriot ls6 heads (can't afford trik flows) or 241s ported or 243s ported what do you guys think would get me in the 500hp range with a 240/250 or so cam??

patriot heads are ported read up on there site and the ls6 heads would be the 243 head that patriot uses... but id say there good for close to 500hp a buddy of mine made 475hp on the patriot ls6 heads and also depending on mods and what your running as power adder nitrous, sc, turbo?? Trick flow or afr would be a better head for your set up..

Lots of luck getting 500rwhp with Patriot or LS6 heads, especially on stock cubes!

My 383 loves its moderate cam with AFR heads putting down just over 500hp to the pavement.

BTW, thats stroker not stroaker.

prc would be my first choice if price is the number 1 factor..stg 2.5 or 3 ls6s

Well for starters with a -12cc relief, you can run about any cam you want. a milled 243 with some cnc porting would do you wonders. I hope you have the stall or gears to go with a big cam though.

Sorry guys I diddnt realize that heads and how they can produce power or restrict it wasn't advanced tech guess that's internal and sorry for my spelling I diddnt quite make it as far as some in the 2010 Burts Bees national spelling bee maybe next year!!

Aftermarket casting heads will be your best bet for a motor like this. PRC 227s, AFR 225s, or TFS 225s would work wonders on this motor. These kind of heads will provide an awesome power curve when cammed correctly. They provide a better seal because of the thicker casting, as well as good compression without giving up flow.

If you are on a budget take a look at some ported 243/799 castings. They will provide good power for the money.

I was under the impression that the heads mentioned above were all for a 4 inch or larger bore? Yes? No?

Any of the heads I listed would have no problem fitting on a 3.903/3.905 bore motor.

AFR's hands down. the size depends on your build OP. talk to a builder about your exact expectations.
