ls1 rev limit?

ls1 rev limit? right now i have a stock internal ls1 and i have a hypertech chip that i have set at 5800rmp and max if wanted is 6600rpm. what is the max this engine can safely rev too? i will be installing a cam shaft soon 1500-6800rpm its a 222/226 597 598 lift. so will i be able to spin 6800 with stock crank pistons rods etc?

I bet with the new cam, your peak HP will be more like 6200-6400. When you get tuned, check your dyno chart for peak HP and shift accordingly. The crank and rods in these LS1 engines are tough. I'd say the rod bolts are the weak link, but they should handle maybe up to 6800 rpm.
Stock with nothing done like completely stock I would not do more than stock rev limiter. The stock equipment is very week and you will experience valve float at around 6500 rpm.
Once you change your cam, springs pr and so on if you do not change your rod bolts I would stick to no more than 6500 rpm. If you change your rod bolts then 7K is about your limit. Like stated prior the cam you have will peak around 6200 to 6400 and then start to fall off.

yeah i will be getting dual valve springs as well and now possibly rod bolts we have a 360ci sprint car spec engine my buddy built in his 70 1/2 camaro and rev limit is 8k that sucker screams and is one of the most crisp engines i have ever heard il have to get a video of that sucker a post if for you all its pretty amazing.

I would not but you can do what ever you want I have a 7K rev limiter shifting at 6800 and my tps/ws set at 6600 she has 100K+ miles on the clock and still running strong. Just had a 2.3 KB Built motor Lightning for a midnight snack the other day.

I was just working with a drag sim program and lowering the shifts to 6700 instead of 7000 is going to cost me .13 and 1 mph, so I will probably live with it there as I was shifting at 6500-6600 for 2 years with no problems. Going to 4.10's will pick that right back up though.

**** I pulled 1.38 60ft with a 100% stock 10 bolt...oh yeah with 3.23 gears...
I would be more worried about getting some bad e85 vs shifting at 7k...
