Default Disappointing Weekend

first off i'm new to the forum so if i'm posting this in the wrong place please excuse me for my ignorance.

i just put in a new ls6 motor with an 85mm performance parts throttle body and 85mm performance parts intake into my 98 ss and backed it by a built 4l60e with a 2800 stall. i broke it in for about 500 miles never really getting on it and then decided it was time to go to the track with my dad and his 68' camaro. see if i could give him a run yet. my first time down the track as soon as i hit 5000 rpms in first gear my service engine light came on and it seemed to bog the rest of the way down the track. i ran a 14.25 at 95.36 mph..... that's .4 slower than my stock ls1 was last year without a built trans. so i decided to read the codes that came up and got 2 codes for tps, and one code for the car being too lean (i'm running 28 lb injectors). i decided to delete the codes and see if it would make it down the track, but the same result happened. I'm assuming there's something up with the tps, but i'm not sure if it needs to be replaced or if a wire needs to be looked at. also, should the injectors be increased even though i believe the 2004 z06 used the same injectors.... any comment would be awesome as i came home pretty disgruntled after dropping all that money into the car ( lol )

thanks

no tune on it? The TPS code is based on MAF reading being above 65 kPa or below 55 kPa in stock form, for longer than 20 seconds and an unexpected throttle position. You may have a leak if your MAF readings are out of whack. I would check with a reader and see where your pressure is at.

Did you install the injectors with a tune? Need more information

It hasn't been tuned yet because i have been waiting for the new cam, headers, ORY to come and i honestly didn't think i would need a tune for an ls6 swap. i will definately take it into consideration. i will also check the injector o-rings to see if there is any leaks coming from them after work today.
i appreciate the input but if i'm running to lean, do you think it will be nessecary to run bigger injectors?

-will definately look into tuning it soon though.

No, you will not need new injectors. That depends on the H/C setup, but for bolt ons, 28lbs is fine. Check all your gaskets for leaks as well. It sounds like you have a manifold leak for sure. Too little "pressure" and a lean condition spells out intake leak past the MAF to me..

I didn't think you could put a larger maf on a 98 without changing to the 99 and up wire harness. Am I wrong?

i'm running the stock 243 ls6 heads. i plan to go with the vengeance vrx4 cam and then over winter i'd like to port and polish the heads on my own (simple gasket match nothing crazy) . but i will pull the intake this weekend check the injectors and should i use a sealant when putting the intake back on? all the forums i've read said the gasket should be enough to stop leaks. but yes, i will check the intake, the injectors and the MAF for leaks as soon as the oppurtunity is available.

NO, just the stock gasket will work, but can easily get kinked or possible the vacuum hose are loose or cracked or the fittings are not tight.

You got some big cajones man, running that thing at the track untuned. I didn't dare move my LS6 swap until I got a baseline tune from a reputable tuner to get it to him and get it dyno tuned. Its a good thing too because it was running pig rich and probably would have damaged something if I ran it like that.

The LS6 has a different cam and different heads than a LS1. I'm surprised it's running as good as it is. Yeah, definitely needs to be retuned.
