No flycutting needed with the X1 and off the shelf TEAs. Just tell TEA the cam you are running and make sure they dont deck the 5.3s much, if any. Go for the "hand finished to competition level" option. Its another 250 bucks, but Im quite sure its worth the power...

Yup. MTI S2E's are a great price and like Mark said, on a 346 motor you don't need the bigger valves to make power.

I've been doing some shopping the past couple months and that's the setup I plan to go with. S2E's and a X1 cam.

Well it's not set in stone yet,But after descussing what to do with my engine guy,I am Probably going to go with X1 cam and MTI S2e LS6 Heads.TEA heads wont do for me in the future with more cubes. So I am leaning to LS6 headsThanks for your replies ,they are greatly appreciated....

Compliment the excellent X1 with the heads that compliment it most...MTI's.

I could not be happier with my results.

Scott,

You live about 15minutes from AP-Engineering. Give them a call and talk to Brian or Chris about their heads and pricing (586-954-3181). You will be impressed! If it's dyno numbers you want to see, they have over 100 logged on their mustang dyno. Do you go to the track often? You should hook up with us and go sometime. I am racing or spectating at one track or another just about every weekend. Good luck with your decision, I know it is a tough one with so many packages out there.

Hey Thanks Tom,Infact Kirk at APE did my Tunning on his Mustang Dyno. But I am not to impressed with his tunning though, because I pulled more power out of it with my translator.I was supposed to go back ,but I never did.Now I wont be running this combo so I guess it doesnt matter. Thanks!!!

Just curious, how do you know you pulled more power out of it with your translator? Another dyno, at the track, SOP? Those things are scary.

I am sure we can help you with your head choice. Give us a call, ask to talk to Brian. He can run down our different packages and see which on e fits you better. Our head pricing is inline with Patroits. There have been some big changes at APE in the last two month's......I think that you will like them.
