Default Questions for guys with C5R heads...

1. What type of rocker setup is required for these. I am assuming that standard SBC rockers will not work.

2. Are the chambers set up for 4.125" bores? If not, what bore size?

3. Is anyone using them on a regular LS1 block?

4. I believe Ronnie Duke's car is running them. Is there enough material there to open up the chambers to like 50cc?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

1. Jesel make's rocker system. Available in multiple ratio and weight.
2. The chamber is around 44cc with the GMPP cnc set, fits best on 4.125 bore.
3. I have used them on a 4 inch bore ls block with a 2.125- 1.6 valves.
4. My guess is you could get them to 50cc, but I have never done that.

Thanks for the reply Kurt. I was hoping you would chime in. So the Jesel rockers are the only ones that will fit? That's going to be expensive.

There may be other rockers that fit, you could try T&D.
Jesel prices are starting to get better and they have a great track record for durability, this was my main concern. The C5R heads are a great hi-power head but so specialized the cost is high. If you decide to use them you will love the power potential!

I am trying to talk myself into using them. However, my custom pistons will no longer work, as they were sized for a 60cc chamber, at 12.25:1 compression. I don't have enough time at this point to make major engine changes. Perhaps on the next motor. Thanks for the feedback.

Good info

i wonder how they would do on a 4.060 iron block. like steve mentioned, you can order them through any dealer, but they're gonna be steep. any dealer employee can get them at cost plus ten percent though, so thats a lil closer to the ballpark.

We used a LS1 block with 4 inch dry sleeves and the smaller valves (2.125/1.6). With a 4. inch stroke it made 700 hp at the flywheel which produced 9.40 et's at 142.00 mph in a 3100 pound Camaro with turbo 350 trans and 12 bolt rearend.
I'm sure the head would be better yet on the 4.060 bore.
You might want to check Scoggins Dickey for price on the CNC set.

1. Jesel and T&D are the only ones for C5R heads,I believe.
2. Heads are designed for "Large bore"block..
3. With Darton sleeves MID..
4. Have had them CNC'd to 62cc down here in OZ.
Cheers
