Can someone explain to me how the LSA plays a factor in the cam. I am under the impression that the lower the LSA the more low end and mid range the cam will have and the less top end.. Is this correct

While there is some merit to your statement, in general that is not correct. On the "other" board there were a few 5 page posts explaining in detail how lsa effects the powerband of a cam. Check it out.
I'll try and give a simply interpretation. The numerically lower lsa gives a peakier, isolated powerband sometimes higher in the rpm band. A higher (tighter) numerically higher LSA gives a broader less peaky powerband. Other factors such as lift, duration, ICL effect this as well. Sometimes people lump all these factors into a higher or lower lsa which is incorrect. Read up on it.
