Default Looking for 450hp, which heads ?

Ok so I'm looking for about 450rwhp on a set of budget heads. Here is my current setup.

2000 Trans am WS6

MTI lid
Kooks Lt's w/ ORY
Magnaflow C/B with electric cutout
P&P stock Throttle Body
Under drive pulley
Stock LS1 Intake
Stock 241 heads
Custom Grind Cam 227/233 on a 112

On a Mustang Dyno this combo gave me 402rwhp and 378rwtq.

What will a LS6 intake and some budget heads do for me ? I'd like 450rwhp. So i'm looking for a 50rwhp increase.

If needed, I could go with a ported F.A.S.T setup. Once I hit 450rwhp im going to give it a 100 shot of nitrous and hope it holds together.

I'd assume some milled LS6 or 5.3 heads will get you there with the LS6 intake, but if the FAST is in your budget, I'd go for it. That would pretty much guarantee you hit the 450 mark.

Dont know your budget but i suggest TFS 220 as cast or Prc 2.5 ls6..
And if you can swing it in your budget i would say add the fast.

My 241's that I ported myself just put down 450 rwhp and 423 torque with a slightly bigger cam and a typhoon intake which is similar to a ls6. I wouldn't mind doing another set for someone to get numbers to back it up. The heads gained 60 cfm over stock and are still only a 217cc runner.

I'm sorry but that seems like a lot of HP on a mustang dyno for the mods that you have. Mustangs are supposed to read a little lower than a dynojet and 402 with stock heads and LS1 intake seems like alot to me.

I say if you want to daily drive it don't go bigger then trickflow 215. they will give you a good low amount of tq for daily driving...going strip trickflow 220 or bigger. Also the prc 2.5 are not as good as the trickflow 215.

the tfs 215cnc head makes 10 more hp then the tfs 220cc,the 220cc head cost $600 less .I would take PIB up on his offer,or get some tfs at vengeance racing .a EPS cam with a fast intake should make 450rwhp.

I have two different dyno sheets from two different days that show proof. It is a Mustang Dyno MD-1100SE, Call Don from Slowhawk Performance if you dont believe me. Also, with just a Lid, and SLP LM1 cat back the car did 333rwhp/333rwtq. It's definitely a strong running car.

As for heads. I wanted to spend under $2000 dollars and I wanted something that would match my cam nicely. Still undecided as to what would be best for me.

Here is the Dyno graph from when I had the cam and other mods put on.

it made 399/378 with a slp loudmouth cat back. Then, a few months later it made 402/378 through a Magnaflow with an open cutout.

You could just buy my old 243 setup for $2200 that made 507rwhp with FAST90/90 LOL

Either way, a set of ported 5.3's or TFS 215s and a good matching cam should get you there.

i'd say go pick up a used 90/90 or 92/92 and a set of TFS 220 as casts, maybe port match them all together and enjoy life. Should meet your goal.
