Just wanted to post an update to this thread. The 0.220" total clearance between the small end of the rod and the inner part of the piston has been working just fine with no machining necessary. You really only need to machine the small end of the rod if there isn't a lot of clearance between the small end and the piston. Already have several thousand miles on this motor and no real issues. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with some Callies LSx-specific rods, since these suckers are heavy. Every now and then I get people sarcastically saying something about using SBC rods in my build... I just remind them that it's been working fine and ask them how their stock shortblock is doing.

Provided you can find pistons with the correct compression height for your combination. If you have to go with custom pistons, you'll end up paying much more in the end.

I wouldn't be able to sleep with a set of Diamond forgings underneath my bed. It would be like Viagra...I would have to call a doctor after having an erection for more than 4 hours.

There not much to look at especially compared to the Eagles but they are about 100 grams lighter. You might also notice that there is no chamfer on the big end of the Ti rods...curious. Anyone want to comment on why?
Racer7088 and Taspeed...thanks for your help. I appreciate everyone's input.
