Default GM parts LS2 blocks?

I mistakenly posted this in the New Enthusiasts area, but here it is again:

Does anyone know when GM parts will start selling the LS2 block?

I've seen several posts about whether or not the LS2 block will accept LS1 heads/intake/internals. Does anyone know for sure?

I know it has a 4" bore, and if I remember correctly either the cam or crank sensor has been moved to the front (that could be the LS7 though).

I dont' think anyone knows for sure, but there was a post of the Vette boards that somebody was talking at one of the auto shows. The information this person said he got was that all the bolt holes on the new LS2 are in the same location for things like the heads and intake. The block has the cam sensor moved to the front and the knock sensors moved the outside of the block(instead of in the lifter valley).

As for on sale time, who knows?? This new block design is supposed to go in the trucks as well, it has the DOD stuff in the cam/lifter valley, so it should be available is a few different bore sizes IMO. I would guess the LS2 block as in the Vette will be available in limited quantities around the time the C6 goes on sale. You should contact Katech directly.
