Default 220cc Trick Flow heads?!

ok, so ive come up on a deal on a set of the above mentioned heads for a price thats pretty much robbing the craddle, what i want to know is how well would they really work with my set-up, im lookin for 420+rwhp, or a mid 11 second set of passes. Right now the car has LTs, catted texas speed Y-Pipe, LM1, Lid, shanner PPTB, F13 cam and an Flt level 4 with an SS4000 and a re-built 10 bolt with 4.10s! Would this be a good head choice, heads have under 4000 miles and the guy is lookin at doin a new motor. They are milled to 59cc and have upgraded springs. Help a brother out, im in afganistan right now, so i cant just go and look at them right now or ask a friend about them, u guys are the next best thing! Thanx.

I would think so, as long as those cam specs are OK with the PTV and milled heads.

i also have a f13 cam and i just added some 220 as cast milled to 61cc. i dont ahve to worry about PTV because i have valve reliefs but i can tell you these heads are bad *** eve though i have not gotten it tuned yet. you can fly cut the pistons in the car if you had to so it you are getting the heads for a steal...BUY THEM!

You are looking at a set in the parts for sale section. I saw them as well. The 220 as cast are basically the exact same thing as the 215cnc heads with a couple minute changes. You'd be looking at around a 10rwhp difference between the two which is almost nothing.

In regards to clearance you should always measure PtV clearance.

A lot of people just do the squish test. However, you are not able to do that right now I assume.

Something like this would be tough to figure from a distance. Hopefully some sponsors with some experience can shine some light for you.

get the heads it is a no brainer if you can get a smokin deal on them...might be close on the ptvc but you can always check and if it is to tight just flycut the pistons a hair, it's really not hard at all...

i even have the tool you can rent it to you

or better yet pm me the contact on the heads and I will take them off your hands...I am sure I won't have any problem selling them

good luck man

Are you the one who ended up buying those heads? If so, I'm so pissed off at you I called the guy yesterday and he said that another guy was going to pay by 5:00 p.m., but if he didn't, then they were mine. If you did get them, you should re-sell them to me.

yeah, I plan to get a custom PatG cam with these heads and will definitely be measuring everything just in case. My only consideration now is fly cutting... not familiar with that at all, trying to research the pro/cons now.

well since you are now getting a custom cam im sure patG can hook you up with a cam that will make sick power and clear the stock pistons even with a good lift...its all in the valve events. just give him all your specs and ask him about it and get some LS7 lifters...mine work great and are dead quite

Just did a set of these. 220 as cast trick flows. Running a 232/236 Comp Cam. Milled them down to 59cc and had plenty of room checked it about 5 times to be safe. I made mid 430's on a slipping clutch and air dump putting a drag on the car (somehow it was still running after being turned off lol) I imagine now with a clutch and good flywheel im in the 440-450 range
