ed passed with PP5.3's (i believe) and a 224 114, that was on his stock manifolds. go check the tech archieves on the other board and you can see his smog sheet. he passed pretty clean.

i'd wager 400-415rwhp with a good tune, pick up an ls6/lsx intake while your at it

powerband should feel something like:

1k-
2k-
3k-
4:
5k+:

FLP's with cats
TR 224/224 114lsa cam
LS6 Intake manifold (no egr)
Minimal Tuning.
When i say minimal, i mean only adusting the shiftpoints and adjusting the idle. I NEVER messed with the a/f, fuel tables, maps, egr, etc... ((( My EGR at the time was actually non functional. )))

I passed no problem! I think i was allowed a max of 55 Hydrocarbons on the 25mph test, and I registered 21 i think. Give or take one or two. As for the visual, geez all i did was pay the guy off and "he just didnt see those headers"

Its all about that LSA IMO. 114 is a good lsa for cal. Granted it pushes the powerband up a lil higher than the 112, but you know the saying, "you cant have your cake and eat it too"

Be more concerned with the "Sniffer" portion of the test. Theres ALWAYS ways around the "VISUAL"

Thanks..I'm thinking of going with the 224/224 .563 114 lsa cam and I am finding it reassuring to hear you passed emissions tailpipe testing with this cam.

I've got the flp's on too with cats so from what you are saying..passing the tailpipe portion of the test shouldn't be a problem.

thanks

If Calif goes to the OBDII test you can pass as long as the computer is not throwing codes related to smog equip. I keep my car registered in Nev and all they do is plug into the computer to see if all the factory smog stuff is working. No visuals anywhere.
