Default 4 inch strokers reliable?

I have heard that with the standard 6.0 and 6.2 blocks that 4.00 inches is too much, I know it can be done, my question is have any of you had a stroker for a long time and raced it to make sure it stays together? Thank you for any answers.

4.000" stroke is fine, on some forced induction setups we've gone with a 3.900", 3.825" or 3.75" crankshaft works better with the size head units most people are using and allows thicker layout on the ring lands.

good pieces and good machine work will work.a 4.00 bore with most any offered stroke from a good site, look at TSP etc..consider a l92 combo from TSP TSP.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am running a 402 and it is rock solid. It has survived two seasons of roadracing as well. Not sure why someone would say a 4.00" bore on a 6.0L isn't reliable.

There should be no issues. We build and ship them every single day with great success.

I agree with all said above me but I figure also to mention since you asked about Reliability.

Always be aware that Wearable parts will always need to be monitored and checked. I do not care if its a Patriot Dual Gold, or a 918 Comp Spring. Aside from a occasional Mis-build of a motor, valve train failure are proabably the next biggest thing that can happen at any time and in most situations a dropped/bent valve is more catastrophic.

With strokers, most also run aggressive cams and some people never think about matience.

I learned the hard way 3-4 years ago on a 383 LT1 with Comp 987's and luckily it caught the valve, bent it up, the head was fixable, and the piston Magnafluxed fine but had it been something else, I could have been looking at a total re-do and 7k out the window.

all the problems i have seen with 4'' stroke engines was due to poor machine work. Some shops are not taking the time to properly hone the cylinders leaving them out of round. Then they burn oil.
