Default what is this?

changed my oil today and this was stuck to my magnetic drain plug.what does this look like to you?stock ls1 long block 141k miles.its hollow if that helps

looks like the end of the dipstick tube

pull out the dipstick and check and replace if needed.

Well if that is the end of the dipstick, then you need it on to hold the dipstick into the top of the oil pan.

That is definitely your kanooter valve!!

On a more serious note, go get another dipstick tube. The side closest to your ring finger goes towards the bottom of the pan. The side towards your thumb is where the o-ring usually goes and seals off the internals of the block from atmosphere.

Did I understand correctly that this was IN your oil pan and came out of the drain?
