Default 383 bore size?

does anyone know what bore size is for a 383 stroker kit. i know stock bore is 3.898. My motor is a 383 all ready just would like to know the bore size. thanks for any help!

Stock bore is 3.898...most 383's are 3.905...that's what mine is.

They make 3.910 pistons also (shelf pieces)...it depends on the previous engine builder and what he felt would be needed to hone the block perfectly clean (and straight).

But....the 3.905 is more popular by a good margin.

Measure the bore with a dial indicator or a bore gauge if you want to be sure!
