Default Lq4 4x4 Cam

Need help finding a cam for the motor ive been putting together for my 1992 k1500.

Ive got a 2004 6.0L that is being rebuilt with ls2 pistons and rods. The truck is just a driver, i drive it alot, beat the hell out of it and i pretty much just want this thing to last.
Im looking for a cam that will allow me to run stock converter(4l80e), doesnt effect the gas milage alot. and has torque down low(rarely tow).
Also low lift? Not sure how long double valve springs last..?

This is what i would do, go to this page and order whatever package you want and get the 224/224 or 220/220 on 112. Those cam's will do everything you want, and you should be just fine with single springs.

Whats the lift on the cam? Also what transmission and stall are you running?

If you put in a cam that's easy on springs like a tr224, is there any point in going with more expensive double valve springs? Will the springs last longer than cheaper single springs or not?

I'm curious about that as well, would ls6 springs be a good choice? Would this cam affect the way it drives with a stock 4l80 and stock converter(4wd)?

A torquey little cam would be the gm hot cam kit. Pick it up cheap with springs. Good mileage and easy on the springs. And won't need a converter. Some of the bigger cams mentioned might make it surgey at the lights or low speed driving.

I wouldnt go with an LS6 spring on anything that is above an LS6 cam. 918's will work fine even on a bigger cam than a 224. PAC springs would be my choice if I was going to do a swap on the Z28 in the near future though.

Call Geoff@EPS and have him spec you a cam. EPS lobes are very effective cams that are also easy on the valve train. Also, my next cam will without a doubt, be coming from Geoff.
