Lets not go down the Hotcam route again. Unless you can find it for 40$ with springs its worth it to spend your money for either a proven newer lobe profile or a custom cam.

get a stall first and save up for a cam. the stall will put a much bigger smile on your face than a cammed car without a stall.

This guy speaks the truth! A friend of mine had only bolt ons. Long tubes/lid. Had a 4400 Circle D stall and would run low 13s like 13.0x-13.2x consistently. Even had a best of 12.8x.This is all in 5000+ elevation with 6500-8000 DA lol.

Its all in the valve overlap to determine what the lope sounds like.

Hotcam has a -1.5° valve overlap.
Depending on the 224's LSA it is probably a 0° or a -2° or -4°.

Very safe to drive it as long as it is tuned prolly not as fun as it will be when you get a stall but it will not hurt anything

Its not really necesary to have the front of the car off to swap a cam. U just have to take the radiator out and move the AC condensor over a little. All that takes no time at all
