Default lq4 vs 5.3

Well i was wondering which block will handle more forced induction power. I have heard of 5.3s taking 600+ and i have been told that there pistons and rods are stronger than the lq4. I was planning on building a 370 but budget has been cut a little short.

A smaller diameter piston will have more structural integrity. Also you can lower the compression on a 5.3 by using 6.0 heads. You cant lower the compression on a 6.0 w/ stock parts.

My stock bottom 5.3 put down 640 to the wheels with a crappy converter on gas and a 50 shot of spray. Now I have an LQ4 rebuilt stock lower end on E85 making close to 800.
My 5.3 lasted 3 years and finally spun a bearing. Everything else in it looked perfect yet.

Hi , i have my stock 4.8 SC with cam and springs and pushrods and it is at about 500 hp , i definately have to change my rod bolts , bought arp,s just waiting to see if i have to really not sure on that , if you go with either block change the rod bolts, they can probably handle the same power Eric
