Just done mine this weekend. Used a bench vice. It took maybe an hour total to punch out the old trunions and reinstall the new ones.

Im missing why a write up was needed. Ive done a ton of these and looking at the Comp instructions, you dont even have to be able to read to install these. They have pictures of every single step????

doing this upgrade does not require changing pushrod length correct?

Correct ... the mod does not change the position of the rocker arm pivot point on the head.

You can also use a 5" C clamp, it doesn't take a lot of force to press them in.

Plus when using a C clamp you can feel if they are goin in straight vs using a press and smashing them in..

I think a lot of the failures with the trunion upgrade were due to user failure of pressing them in crooked.

My advice is to go slowly and make sure it's completely straight while its sliding in, first sign of it sticking, stop what you are doing and straighten it out..

I did this a couple weeks ago. Figured it was a good excuse to get that cheap Harbor Freight press to make sure they went in straight. http://www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-a...ress-3552.html

Just pressed in my new trunions and all went well but I've got 2 that's are still kind of rough feeling, and don't rotate near as easy as the rest. I pressed them out and re did it 3 or 4 times and it just never really got better. Anyone ever had this issue?

I just did mine a couple weekends ago. I found this video and seems to have given me the most help so far. I don't have access to a press, but most people have access to sockets and a vise-- if you are in the same boat as me this is very helpful.

I was expecting it to be a lot harder but ended up being way less than I was anticipating.
