Default warranty? for cat's and emission parts

My 2002 z28 pop a code for low cat. eff. bank 1 code p0420. My question is are the cat's under warranty still? The car was built Sept. 02. I talked with 2 local dealers and one of them say's its still under warranty until Sept. 3 2010, the other says its not under warranty. I have also heard that gm covers cats and all emission parts for 10 years or 150k miles. If anyone can clear this up for that would be alot of help.

thanks
james

I think it might be a 10 year warrantee. I had mine replaced by a dealership (for free ) in 2006 (I have a 00' T/A). Personally, I would give a dealership a call Monday.

when I called my local dealership about it when my cats went out they first played dumb and said sure we'll do your cats for you for 1800 out the door, then I brought up the warranty and then the guy was like oh well I'd have to look into that, 10 years 150k.
