Seems everybody is going to be offering a "hand finished to competition level" head before too long.

Yes it was and I know three cars that have added a 12bolt and lost less than 10rwhp, actually the MOST I have seen with my own eyes loose is 7rwhp. And btw, my car with its stock 10bolt and 3.42's trapped 123mph at 3550 raceweight and a 2200 DA about two months ago. All this "power loss" thru 10bolt vs. 12 bolt is blown WAY out of proportion. When I add my 12 bolt in April I may have to eat my words, but from the examples I've seen in real life (not over the internet) I won't expect to loose any more than 7rwhp.

I have seen with my own eyes, 7hp and 20hp with a 12 bolt. But what got me was the loss in torque. Both were about 20lbs lower.

what do yall think about the gtp stg.II heads from thunder for 2400 bucks assembled with dual springs they put 440 to the wheels on a full bolt on car with a 224 cam and 4.10's in a 12 bolt is that to much $$$$$$$. are there any other heads that have done this.

I completely agree with this statement and that is why this summer I will be switching to AS 5.3L S2's. Jay does a great job and the dyno numbers and track results are proof. I don't think that PP heads have completely proven themselves yet. JMO

I am a big fan of the GTP heads, many of my friend have had great success with them. My next set of heads will be on a Forged 346 Motor and I will be looking for the best head (non C5R) with cost not being a matter.

I think the PP LS6 head is a good head and can perform as can the Absolute Speed Heads, the TEA heads and pretty much every other head sold by the vendors. I would look at what you want to do with the car first then get a good set of heads and cam designed to match it. My $.02 though.

no telling how far i will go. but i have no intentions on stoping before i get some mid 10's how do you rate the gtp's as far as quality of performance compared to the rest.

I think they're very good in quality from what I've seen. I've read a few bad things about customer service from GTP,but I've never heard anyone say "Not making any power b/c of GTP heads". I'm also looking into Cartek and MTI heads.

Hell yes they are more expensive. If you want a good head that isn't that expensive I'd go for the Raging Motorsports brand head, Patriot, Absolute or Tea. All of them have made great power and can be had for less than $1700

The next set of heads I will buy will be one of these brands...

GTP, MTI, Cartek, LGM, or AFR.

Good luck with the new heads Joe. Those Absolute's make some great power. As far as Patriot heads not proving themselves, take a ride in my car. U might change ur mind about that.
