I think you can if you get the codes tuned out. Then you would just have to pass the visual

You might get more feedback from locals in the Texas section (near the bottom of the main forum page)!

No it will not pass i work at Munday Chevrolet on 45 as driveability tech and it is an emissions control device that is monitored by PCM to reduce production of NoX which is created at 2500 degrees egr valve allows inert exhaust gas to displace the presence of oxygen to reduce heat also Nox is generated due to heat and pressure. the egr it does not rob power and is useful i have an 1999 ss that produces 500hp and still retains egr valve driven to work and track

I live in Houston and if you pull off the AIR PUMP and EGR you can still pass inspection you just need your computer tuned. I can tune these out if you're interested shoot me a PM. I can also help you remove the ERG and AIR as they are just extra weight and garbage.

My C5 doesn't have Air, egr or cats and I pass with no problems.

Fastazzls1, you have a nice sounding car want to run sometime I don't live far from Munday. What tracks do you like hitting up?

It will pass just don't take the egr pump out of the car just leave it hooked up.
Your pump is under your bottom right headlight.

NO CODE Problem solved unitl you can get your tune and have it removed.

Take the EGR off and throw it away it is dead weight..you can have it and all other emissions stuff tuned out of the PCM...I've been running without all that crap for over 200,000 miles now ..
