Default MS3 cam in an LQ9?

Hey guys new to the forum. I'm currently swapping a LQ9 into my 95 z28 and the guy I'm getting the engine from told me he will throw in a ms3 cam for free if I want it. Will this cam work in the lq9 or will I have ptv clearence issues? I thought I had read before that the pistons had to be flycut but I wasn't sure.

Any help appreciated!

It will fit without having to flycut the pistons! You would definitely benefit from more compression (for example a stock or ported LS6 head would be a budget friendly way to go)! Make sure he installs a good spring kit and a set of hardened pushrods while he's there. You'll need all the bolt-ons to allow the engine to breath properly, and plenty of gear/stall to get you into that tall power band!

yes agreed and dont overlook not putting those gears in i have a similar size cam def needs the gears . but the 243s are great with that set up and a good dual spring kit anything that can handle over .600 lift
