5.3+cam+long tubes=HP???
Wondering what a stock 5.3 can do with a cam (and spring) swap and longtubes, truck intake.. anyone running a similar combo? just wondering what to expect...any cam recommendations? it would/will going in a street driven 70 el camino with a 4l60...

what springs would be good to run with those? I assume i will also need pushrods? ANd its in a 70 elcamino so i was looking more at your recommendations, what do you think of the 54-456-11...too big for a stock stall 4l60 and 323 rear gears?

with the 408 cam use comp 918s,with the 455-456 use pac 1518s.you will need better push rods.the 456 cam would trade a little low end for more top end power.how much advance is in the 456 cam,4 or 5*?it mite work with a stock stall ,check the ls truck forum for more feed back.

I would change the pushrods and run PAC1218s with either cam. We can put them all together in a package to save you some money.

224 cam with long tubes and a ls6 intake will usually net about 320-330rwhp. We recently did one with our hand ported 799's and our little 5.3 grind that made 387to the tires with a truck intake, through a stalled auto. Should break 400 with a good intake. Still had stock truck accessories and balancer.
