Default Is a 2002 C5 intake a Ls6?

I found a intake off a 2002 C5 Corvette it has no egr tubing like a Ls6 intake. Wondering if it is also a Ls6 intake on C5's or if thats just the Z06 Vettes

I've also been told that the '01 and '02 F-bodys came with the ls6 intake. I've been getting alot of mixed answers.

F-body and Corvette LS1 based Car got that LS6 type intake from the Factory. There is a part # difference between the 2 but is essentially the same intake. There are links on how to identify the difference beyond the part # and heir apparent hole for the EGR in which the underside has a specific pattern of ridges.

I had a LS6 on my 2002 T/A, Sold it to for funds to buy a FAST 90/90, but then 2 years later I moved back to a LS6 and I still checked the part # to verify. It turned out to be a Corvette LS6.

I believe that part number difference has to do with wether or not the intake has the press fit brass ferrules necessary to bolt on a cable throttle bracket in an F-Body and 2004 GTO as Vette's were drive by wire, and I HAVE seen some manifolds without those ferrules.

This post is from 6 months ago... but I've been wondering the same thing since I just picked up my '02 C5. So two things...

It works

And as always, thanks to TSP and the always reliable information from tech members
