LS6 cam change I searched and did not find what I was looking for.
Ok first off is it worth it to put an LS6 cam in my car (in sig)?
What kind of gains can I expect at the track?
What if anything else needs to be changed out?
If I left something out please let me know.
I have to change out my water pump soon, so I was thinking of doing it all at one time.

you will see a small but noticeable gain everywhere, you shouldnt need to change anything else out because it it a stock cam, some pushrods would be a good idea. I would recommend going slightly bigger, it sounds like you dont want a huge cam so a hotcam, 224 or 228r would be good steps up
Not to be an *** but this question is asked almost weekly, do a search and you will find all the info you care to read. On the other hand I installed the same LS6 cam in my car because I was scared of having to add a stall and to be honest it wasnt really worth the effort. I do my own labor and got the cam for free so it was a no brainer but if I was buying a cam and paying for labor dont mess with it, get a 224 or something close if you are running a stock stall. Never took my car to the track but I did pick some noticable top end but lost some low end, better than stock yes but worth the effort nah.
You have to use LS6 springs or better so I would go with 918's or some pac's because you will regret it later when you decide to step up to a bigger cam!

I did search but did not find what I wanted to know.
I am not sure if I will do it or not just a thought. I need the car to go 12.0 because I am going to run the NHRA unleashed event in Gainesvile fl in NOV. I need a few tenths and figured it would help some. I do plan on a big cam and head work in the future but for now I just want a consistant 12.0x.

someone i know said they got 3 tenths from the 04 z06 cam and springs and pushrods...the only reason they did it is because they had under 200 dollars in teh whole swap.

seriously while you are there get a custom cam speced out for your needs. i daily drive mine which is cam only and cam is above .600's lift. power wise, i have not dynoed it yet but was hoping to see numbers around 400whp. what ever you do dont do all the work just for a LS6 cam and bar minimum you must use the yellow gm springs with the ls6 cam.

If you go with an LS6 cam, youll need pushrods, and valve springs. The yellow springs would work just fine, and both can be picked up pretty cheap. IIRC, the LS6 cam has a smaller base circle, which is why youll need the pushrods.
Me personally, i went with a 224R over an LS6 cam. Its a very good cam all around, and hardly lopes at all.
