how bout an air to air intercooler with a little water/alky injection.

my intake temps drop below ambient with the water/alky flowing, no intercooler.

Air to water seems to be work best for drag racing but I do follow threads about alky injection pretty closely.

I'll start a new thread tomorrow about the rest of the car (except the blower setup that's chapter 3).

You left out the cost of pistons, rods, rings, wrist pins, did you include cam bearings, push rods, retainers, keepers.....cost of spiral cutting pistons (if floating wrist pins)

Are you going to use floating wrist pins?

I am also building a very similar setup, I have been doing alot of research and most of the stuff you have is what I am getting. I was going to go with the iron block, but because of the weight I have decided against it, hell the blower kit weighs about 80 lbs!!!! I am using a D1 @ 12lbs....so I will not make as much power.

I did have a question though.........how are the 6.0 heads in relation to a 5.7 cut to make lower compression. I ask because 6.0 heads have a 4.00" bore, where as a 5.7 head has a 3.9" and your motor is a 3.905" (this is the dilemma I face currently "which heads to use"). How does this affect performance, or will there be more of a safety issue using the 6.0 over the 5.7?

Also are you going to have the block o-ringed and have the heads machined with a receiver groove? It was what was recommended to me.....do you all think it is necessary?

The pistons come with with wrist pins.

Not 0-ringing anything. I'll try to run the car at 11:1 AF in the beginning and maybe we'll run it until it loses a head gasket, sounds dumb, but I feel that I can get pretty far before o-ringing stuff and/ or running copper head gaskets.

>I'll add to the list but I already have a set of 7.350 pushrods kicking around, but I think they are $120?

>New block had new cam bearings.

>Those off the shelf Diamond pistons come with 4340 wrist pins.

>Use the 6.0 gaskets when putting 6.0 heads on a 3.900-3.910 LS1/LS6 block.

>Not o-ringing I think I can avoid that by using excellent head studs and a conservative tune on the dyno.

UPDATE:
-Heads are here!
-Rods are here!
-Pistons are here!
-Block is here!
-Sourced a crank to use!
-Block should be honed out .005 by now!
-Rotating assembly not balanced yet because I am a dork and did not know that I needed the flexplate and balancer in order to balance the stuff.
-Flexplate is on it's way from Valvegod!
-Balancer is on it's way along with the Vortech YS trim, 8" crank pulley and 3.12" blower pulley! Also getting a Vortech Mondo bypass!
-Picking up used but built T400 on Saturday!
-Need to order converter tomorrow!
-Have not ordered cam yet may end up going bigger with it so it's in progress!
-Plan to spin motor up to 7200 maybe more now am wondering if I should run better lifters I will need to research this!
-Bought a used Weldon 2025 external fuel pump!
-Buying Billingsley Racing torque arm and crossmember for the T400 conversion!
-Reusing my old TTS 1.75 headers in the beginning until I have sourced 1&7/8 full lengths or larger, but I'd really like to run 1&7/8 into 2" step headers!
-3.50 gear is here from Strange (Thanks Jay!) but there is talk about going to a 3.70 we will see but I'm afraid of doing 7400 thru the traps but the SC will not have the torque of the turbo setup we originally planned.

My plan is to have the car running NA, not with the new fuel system, on April 1st. Speed Inc. will install the new FI longblock, the old exhaust and the new T400 setup and then I will install the new blower with a custom bracket, and then Chris Sikora of Sikora Precision will be building a custom air to water intercooler for the car using 3 Spearco 206 cores. At this point I will have the pcm side of things sussed out and will report on what we will use for the car. Worst case I will use a FAST but I am hoping that this other box that I know of will have all the features I need.

The goal with the car is to run about 20 lbs of boost with a max engine rpm of 7200.
