Default Thoughts on a h/c/i setup

I was thinking of doing a tsp torquer v3 cam with the ls6 2.5 heads and an ls6 intake. Has anyone tried this combo or anything similar?

More info is needed but assuming stock motor w/boltons it's a good combo and should see high 11's with the right stall/gear and other supporting mods.. Depending on the car I have seen anywhere from mid 11's to low 12's all with tire....

Yeah sorry it would have all bolt ons and maybe a 3800 stall. Stock bottom end and some 3.73s in the rear.

Then it should be pretty good. I actually prefer the v2 because the less aggressive intake lobe is more valvetrain friendly. That .643 intake lobe is a little big unless all you wanna do is track the car and if that is your goal just go bigger cam with more gear/stall.... Just my opinion of course but I bet there is maybe 5rwhp between the two..

My old 346 had a 230/234 .612/598 in it and after 36K everything still looked good in it. Dyno showed no valve float so I ASSUME the PRC Golds were still good.... I would stick around that range for a DD car..

Edit: I would expect 410-425 with that setup.. I made 417rwhp with cam listed above and PRC 5.3's and a FAST 90/90....

the car will not be used as a dd but i would still like to keep it as reliable as possible so thanks for the help. As far as the heads go, would the 2.5 ls6 heads be a better choice over the 2.5 5.3s? Sorry i know nothing about cars when it comes to the technical stuff

You are asking good ???'s. Only way to learn...

IMO thr LS6's are better. Had the 5.3's and would skip any OEM ported head for any good aftermarket head IMO. Heads are the single most important power maker on ANY car and ultimately decide the combos potential.....

I would also go for the ls6 heads over the 5.3's The best head for the money would be the AFR 210cc head. Gas milage might even increase with that head since the runner is about 15cc smaller than ported stock runners.

Yeah those AFR's are a great head and if $$$ allows you cannot go wrong there... I ended up with another aftermarket casting but if those AFR's were available at the time there is a good possibility they would be on top of my motor now even though I ended up with some killer heads..

IMO you will be happier with a quality aftermarket casting in the long run. Remember this is coming from a guy who had a set of ported OEM's from a popular sponsor. Now I wish I had only spent the $$$ once....

If you decide on an OEM head though do the 243/799's...

I just got some AFR 205's milled down to 62cc and plan on running the Torquer V3. I'm hoping to make around 450rwhp with that set up. Good luck with your build.
