Default 152K miles on engine safe to cam for more power?

I have a 98 z28 a4. I want to up my power what do you guys recomend I should do. Is it safe to do it or should I replace some parts first? I was thinking cams and ls6 intake and a whole exhaust while I was at it. I already have the FIPK K&N kit.

98's definitely need a pump/chain upgrade. Do a compression check on the motor first, and if all the cylinders are still tight, then rock N roll.

As long as you don't go with a monster cam that requires you to spin to the moon. I believe you've got the older rod bolts.

This.

Spinning a bearing gives you an excuse to put a stroker in, so its kinda a win-win, anyways.

I gotta 98 Z28 with 182K. I installed the cam at 175K and its still going strong. When I did the swap I put changed the oil pump, chain, pushrods, and springs too. I dont see why it would be a problem for you. BTW Im from seminole maybe ill see you around.
