well i let the block sit outside and at times forgot to cover the motor. got some rain on it but decide im going to purchase the LQ9 block that's for sale locally complete for 400 bucks. i came back to this thread to remember all my problems and make sure it's not the same on the lq9 flat top piston and of course turn over. hopefully i could have this complete swap done this month with the tax money
