not only that, but asking this question on the internet is like asking your friends if the hot blonde has STD's. your going to get 3 different answers and probably no one knows for sure.

the main reason is simply because each engine is different. esp when were working with thousandths of an inch. the only way to know for sure is to try yourself.

some people have made the MS4 clear on un cut pistons with stock heads, and some people run into problems. same with the T-rex. some people have made it clear a certian setup and some havent.

there are so many different varriables such as cam timing (advanced/retarted) lifter preload setting, etc...its too risky just to ask someone on the internet then take it for gospel and risk your $$$ on a whim, when you could have just checked yourself and been 100%.

I run the ms4 with no issues at all, great power ,good cam,I agree you can't really ask this question and get a for sure answer,I know people that have just did the cutting, and if your plans are to run that thing I would cut anyway reguard less

Yes it clears ran one for 5 years on a stock motor. TFS heads are also 13.5 degree heads which give you more clearance. And its not overrated it has held the cam only record for years and it just got broken by another Trex car at 10.17!

Thanks for the replies. I know the TFS heads have more clearance, I'd like to know how much more so I can increase compression will a little milling or a thinner head gasket and not flycut.

^ I'm with stupid...

flycutting should be done if you want max effort...it allows you to bump the compression almost a whole 1 pt...that is worth around 3-4% alone...so say another 10hp on the so on the table on the low side...plus it helps bring tq up and makes tuning easier...

I would seriously think about it, I have done around 4 motors now and it really is easy...

as for know the clearance you need to get the cam install it and measure then you will know exactly what you are comfortable taking off...

call Thunder racing and ask them about the cam and what you are looking to use heads ect.. for the money they all cost about the same but the TRex makes the most power period
