Default Factory 1.7 rockers to a comp cams 1.8 kit

I have a small cam 5.58 lift and I was wondering if it would be to much lift if I went to a 1.8, I believe it would put me around 590, I an currently running ls6 beehive springs.

I'm going to guess the lift is 0.558. . . . if thats the case, then divide the known lift of 0.558 by 1.7 which gives you 0.32823529. Now take that 0.32823529 and multiply it by the desired 1.8 which gives you 0.5908 or .591 as you thought. IF the springs are rated for 0.600 then I would consider a bump up (just in case. . .)

Those springs are only good for .550 lift your 558 lift is pushing it. Go for dual springs

Where'd you get 0.550"? The stock LS6 cam has 0.554. And those springs are good for 0.570", according to www.sdparts.com, which is where I just now looked them up.

imo go with pac 1518's from sdpc 188.00. Good to .650 lift and work with stock retainers and locks.
