I cant find any LQ9s that cheap on ebay, even from LKQ. Seems like the LQ4's are going for $1000+ with 70k - 180k miles.
Best place to search is on car-part.com. I would expect to pay between $1100 and $1500 for an engine below 80k miles. I kept searching every couple days for a month before I bought mine.

LQ9
AI Ported Stg 1 243 heads
LS6 Intake
Mid 230s Custom Cam

Would probably make a nice cheap performing package!

No flycutting needed for me. But, I didn't mill the heads at all. And there's deals out there on these motors. I got my LQ4 shortblock, with a fresh rebuild, for $1200 shipped. And that was with some extras (Set of 42lb injectors, ARP head bolts, and a few other small things). It even already had an Fbody oil pan, underdrive pulley, and fbody waterpump on it.

I have seen a lot of them go on craigs list for around 500 to 800,with 60k on them and up,scoggin dickey sell the factory blocks, for 754.85,if I can't find something local I think I'm just gonna order one and build it,I'm sure something will pop up in my area soon,

ly6 i'm assuming thats aluminum? and how much different are these l92 heads everyone is talking about. I know the 317's are nothing to brag about but thats why I also have a set of P&P 243's

the ly6 is like a newer version of the lq9. has a cast iron block. l92 aluminum heads. 9.6:1 compression. i was told the l92 heads flow better than ported 243s. With the right cam, these l92s are supposed to make greaT power but it can be a little harder to pick put the right cam that suits them. If u already have ported 243s, i would probably consider keeping them since u can re use your intake, rails, injectors,tb,etc. most of these items would have to be changed if u are going the l92 ROUTE.
