I like Pat G's suggestion.. Although, I would go with a 232/236 with everything else the same..

Remember one thing, drive ability comes down to you as the driver what can you handle driving & at stop lights and so on. A tune can make the biggest cam feel like stock if done correctly. Ok maybe not like stock but a good tuner can make a bigger cam (233/239 & bigger) run very smooth. Now my biggest advice is this if its your daily driver and you want under the curve hp then stay with a smaller duration the EPS cams have been proven to make great power and the 232/234 pat g cam makes a lot of its power early.

Now getting board is a thing that many gear heads tend to face no matter what they have. There is always that car that makes you want to tear into your engine and try to squeeze more hp out of her. My point right now is 600 hp. Am at 540 with a 150 shot of smack through an auto. Once I achieve 600 rwhp through my auto am good....for a while anyways.

good luck.

233/239 is as big as I would go without changing the rear gear too. That cam won't kill the low rpm range but picks up ton's at the top. Anything bigger than that is also gonna wear the clutch more and make you just strain the car to take off. 233/239 IMO

I'm gonna call tsp after work today just to talk it out a little more. I like the lifts more with the 233/239 than the high intake lift of the T3

Probably due to not wanting to change springs with every other oil change

Custom TSP : 230 (.612"XFI)/ 236 (.607"XFI) , lsa 112
The XFI lobes are less agressive, but offer more lift then the X-ER lobes for the same duration.

He drives it 2k miles a year. Even with a higher lift cam he isnt going to be swapping out springs that often.

Oh, and to op. Plan around your heads. Not the other way around.

How about a EPS 230/234 .600/.602 112+4. Shouldn't have to be revved to the moon and EPS cam reviews have showed quiet valvetrains with excellent numbers. Just throw some PAC 1518's in there too and save $50-$75 over doubles. Should still give great mid range and be good for a DD.

Worked late and TSP closed before i can call them.. looks like next week ill be getting ready to make the choice. The T3 seems to be better than the T2 as ive read like i said i dont drive the car every day just a weekend toy and i take it to car shows stuff like that and cruise with friends and eventually to the track for fun when i can. 233/239 is the biggest id go thats why i was considering it and once i add a FAST and a decent set of heads ill be in the high 450 RWHP range and thats what i wanted (goal is close to 500 N/A). You guys are awesome i dont post up much but i read constantly its nice to actually get info and help on my own purchase this time around!

for how much you will be spending on parts, install, and tune. i would definitely not go conservative. Like already said, if you have a damn good tuner who can tune spot on, you can definitely drive a big cam no problem.

OK since youve said thats its a play toy Id say you could go bigger than the 233/239. If you want a lower maintainence cam and an easy driver id go to that. But if everytime you take the thing out its like the two valet guys on ferris bueler's day off then go ***** out and build the thing

throw some heads on there, it seems to be your best option, but if your hell bent on swapping the cam id do the Magic Stick or Texas GIANT cam from TSP

I'd go radical with a "toy" but thats just me. I don't dd my car anymore like I did in the beginning so a new cam may be in order for me.
