Default Early and late model 24 tooth reluctor wheels interchangeable?

hi
i have to repalce the reluctor beacse of damaged teeth i have the early 24x reluctor and it doesnt have any gaps between the teeth, the newer 24x reluctors have differant spacing and small gaps. i am wondering if you cange change to the new style without changing anything else.
thanks any info will help

I wouldn't see why it should matter, it doesn't read the gap it reads the spaces between the notches.

As long as it is a 24x reluctor wheel going back in you will be good to go.

thats great, thanks guys. i also found out that the spacing makes it easier for the sensor to read so that it doesnt throw a code, and it is a good idea to upgrade to the newer version if possible
