Lq9 build/ couple ?
I have a 03 Lq9 that I bought of ebay fully assembled for a fair price. I got the motor looks like it was sitting for a while so I took all apart to rebuild it , what I am wanting to do is not workable with the money I have as off now being laid off. So was wonder would there be any good gains as for putting my TRraptor cam in with the 317s only thing not sure what head gasket to go with right now. Also was going to swap over the Prc springs an hardened pushrods that came with the kit for my ls1. Everything was checked by my machine shop, new cam bearings, rod bearings, mains, rings ..also gonna use the stock pistions an rod. Honestly just want to get the most I can out the motor cause waiting on another job I might just send the car out afterwards to get all done by a shop that only works on these cars but right now I cant an hate seeing it sit in my garage. So any suggestions would help ? Just basically a stock rebuild as of now

You can still make good power with an LQ9. IMO one of the best things to do when running the NA is to throw some 243 heads on top. They give a healthy bump in compression and still flow as well as the 317s do. As far as head gasket you will have to grab one made for the 4.00" bore of the LQ9. GM part number for the MLS gasket is 12589227.
