Question Oil Disappearing?

I have a 2001 SS m6 17k miles on it, noticed oil low last year It does not leak, Changed oil and after 3k miles oil was about 2 quarts low. Later on I took the car back to a GM dealer and they said they would have to first start a oil consumption test. Got the oil changes (Mobil 1 10w30). And after 1,388 miles car is already 1 quart low. Took it back to the dealer and they noted it and said it would have to do this a couple more times for them to brake down and get into the motor. Any one had this problem on a 2001???

Yes but it is mostly on vettes and m6 cars.
Dealer will do it by replacing 2nd compression ring and oil ring without a hone

There is a big write up about this I forget where it is now , but you can do a search for it on the www.corvetteforum.com
It is claimed by GM that oil is used from running in LOW load conditions with higher rpm's
as in being in the lower gears to long, like when driving around in second instead of 3rd as an A4 WOULD HAVE SHIFTED UP.

Thats the reason my car blew the hell up. I changed my oil and at 2000 miles after changin the oil i was 2 quarts low, and my oil pressure sensor was broke off. because of the g uy that had my car before me is a jackass. But anyways its blown up and now its fixed but i ordered diamond piston rings. Most ppl on here say the reason for that to mess up is because the rings let oil go past the pistons and it burns up or something. So i think by puttin different rings on the pistons u should be fine. but im not sure ill know if that is really true in a week when i get my car back. Weird thing is my cars a automatic and it dont leave drive.. i dont shift gears.

My 2000 Ws6 eats oil like there is no tomorrow too! I can't wait to get a stroker for the SS and swap the 346 w/ H/C into the Ws6

Look in the FI forum. Many people are doing the Catch Can mod with good results.. The problem is in our pcv systems for the most part.. Look up catch can in the search. look at my pictures for the mod..
