What times are you getting with the current setup? Just keep in mind once you are already modded the improvements you'll see become proportionately smaller.

Even if a simple cam swap would put you into the 10's it's going to be on borrowed time.

Fast
Cost Effective
Reliable

You can only have two

The kid that I bought it from said 11's. Spinning the tires. But I tried spinning the tires and I could never get them to break loose and I couldn't find a traction control switch anywhere. So I don't know. What it really runs

the seller just wanted to sell you the car, now you go take that thing to the track and see what it does. it sounds weird that somebody would put on LS6 heads and keep a stock cam

1quickirocz, your flaming is uncalled for. Do not let me see you do it any more. This is a tech forum, not a high school classroom.

In answer to your question, the cast pistons are the weakest link. They start failing above 600rwhp. You'll see ringlands breaking off a lot, especially the #7 piston. The stock oiling system and timing chains are weak as are the stock rod bolts on 2000 and older LS1s. The rods and crank are actually quite robust and can hold over 1000rwhp. Sadly, the pistons typically break before this.

Sorry I wasn't trying to disrespect anyone. I just hate to see someone that insist on giving other members of this forum incorrect info like reusing head bolts that are tty. There are people here who really don't know better and would do it because they saw in a thread that it was ok. again I apologize.

I personally have had pistons fail with just bolts ons and a tune. number 5&7 don't seem to hold up very well.

I'm not joking about the head bolts.FROM the factory they are NOT TTY! I watched the LS1 engines being built! THEY DO NOT TTY the head bolts! Anyone that has ever done this knows how long it takes.......
