Soak the new lifters in motor oil for about 24 hours before installing them.

I prefer to use gm cam and lifter lube, but motor oil is fine.

go ahead and get some LS2 lifter trays, mls head gaskets and some ARP head bolts and pay great attention to reinstalling the heads...

Stay away from cometics and just get the GM MLS gaskets, a tighter quench isn't worth pulling the heads again and having coolant leaking everywhere and into everything.
