Default TSP come in!!! Help me pick a H/C combo!!!

So I finally just bought my first LS1 Fbody. It is a 99 Trans Am A4. I am still deployed to Iraq but I had my cousin(who is also a member here) pick the car up and store it for my while I am here. For awhile, I was sure that I wanted the TSP Tsunami cam with the PRC 2.5 LS6 heads, but now I just dont know I know I am going to go with the PRC heads but whether or not I get the 2.5 LS6s or the 2.5 5.3 heads, I am not completely sure. The same thing with the Cam. I have read a few of the dyno threads here and I am very very impressed with the cam, however, my car will be a daily driver. I am going to get a Yank converter but it is still a toss up between the SS3600 or 4000. Eventually, I would really like to spray a 125 shot on it so I guess the cam needs to be good for that....

All in all, I am shooting for low 11s high 10s and hoping to do it on the stock short block and preferably with over 400rwhp with the A4.

Being that I am over here and the lack of phones, It is hard for me to give TSP a call as I would like to so I am hoping that they could give me some advice on here or PM. I am planning on ordering all of this in the next few weeks so I want to see if TSP will chime in here. I have heard nothing but good things about them and I want to give them as much of my business as possible. I just wish I had heard of them before I moved out of Lubbock before this deployment.

Thank you guys in advance.

Since you will make all that money on your return from your deployment ,

i would go with the PRC 215 heads and either the TSP Tsunami or 233/239 cam a yank SS4000. That should make for a real strong, and fun street car.

I have thought about picking up those heads but they are a little more than I want to pay. I would like to stay with one of the OEM-type PRC castings if I can.

If it's a budget issue, I'd go with the PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 heads! They are going to perform better than the 5.3's, for just a little more money. The Tsunami is an awesome camshaft, but as stated above, you definitely need a good higher stall converter to run it!

You can either do it once and be happy or do it twice because you wanted to go bigger and better...

Will the SS3600 be big enough for the tsunami? How will the cam be with nitrous?

Yes, 3600 will do nicely with the Tsunami and up to about a 150-200 shot! Those pieces will work nicely together!

Unfortunately, track times are harder to predict and have even more variables than dyno numbers!

That is very understandable. I am hoping for atleast 400rwhp. I think that is possible even with the A4.

anybody else??? I think I am going to end up going with the tsunami/2.5 LS6 combo....

How much can I have the head milled before I have to worry about PTV issues? Is higher compression even good for nitrous? I saw in one of the threads with that combo that the heads were milled to 62cc. Can I get them from TSP like that? Sorry for the questions, I just really want to make sure that I have everything right before I order from TSP

We can mill the 2.5 LS6 heads about .010-015" without piston to valve clearance issues. Give me a call and I can make sure you get everything you might need for the install too. We're only open until 12:00 central time today, and won't re-open until 9:30 central time on Monday, at which time the sale will be over!
