Default GTP Stage 2's with LS6 Cam. Big Enough?

What do you guys think? I'm ordering the GTP Stage 2's from Thunderracing and i'm only planning on running the LS6 cam. Is it big enough or should i just go with something bigger? Is it a waste to just run the LS6 cam with these heads? Thanks.

Take Advantage of something bigger. Those heads will flow very well.


If you want your driveability to stay almost stock with a small-decent size cam, pick a TR-220 or B1 Cam.

My SS had a 224 Cam in it. That would be the biggest i'd want to go in a daily driver for an auto

What i really want is a very good Idle. I want to keep the Car stealthy and having something with a shitload of Lope won't help.

just get a came with a high lsa. The z06 has like a 117. My TR cam has a 112. Shitload of lope at idle. 114 on the other hand is livable, espec. with an A4, and stil lets people know that you have something.

I agree. A TR220 114 is a minimum.

You could also go with a 222/222 115. Add 4 degrees advance for better bottom end or 2 degrees for better top end power. At 900 rpm your idle would be stealthy and just a hint of lope at 850.

Yeah i totally agree with the comments here. You have bought some of the best heads $ can buy and you will be leaving major power at the table with that Puny *** stock Z06 cam. As suggested, just get your cam on a 114 lsa or so and YOU ARE GOOD TO GO and will probably find an extra 20rwhp!
Do it right the first time around. Call some cam experts like MTI, T Racing and tell them what your power goals our coupled with your goal to remain stealthy on the street and they will dial you right in!
