Possible LS1 build cam question
2000 Ls1 that needs a rebuild.
Not thinking any type of stroker. So 346 CI.
Forged pistons and eagle rods to 10.75 compression ratio. Stock crank with new bearings. New push rods, oil pump and timing chain ect.
I have a set of new AFR 205 66cc chamber heads. Springs good to .660 lift.
The cam is is the question. The LS1 will have 4L60E trans. 3200 stall converter. 3:50 gears in a 67 Nova. I'm looking for a daily driver with a bit of a chop at idle but no stalling or surging type cam. I was thinking around 224 intake and 230 exhaust with a 114 centerline. Manual brakes so I'm not worried about inches of vacuum.
The engine builder has reccomended due to the larger AFR exhaust valve a split cam with more duration on the exhaust than the intake. Say like 234 intake and 230 exhaust on a 113 or 114 centerline.
Just want to know you cam gurus what you think. Haven't bought the cam yet.
Thanks,
here are their house grinds.
