Default Just ordered a set of absolute stg 2 5.3 heads!!

I am one happy camper. Just got off the phone with Jay (he was working late tonight) and what a nice guy to deal with. Sounds honest and I know from reading the posts here and talking to him, he will stand by them.

Well guys, take a stab at where you think I will be in the rwhp range. Mods down in the sig.

Now I just have to tell the wife I just bought a set of heads Wish me luck

You won't be sorry, and you won't be posting that your numbers are low or that your heads failed. Jay is a top notch guy to deal with, you made a wise decision, IMO.

Well, I had the wife about 90% convinced. She just wanted to wait a little. But like many people say "it's only money".lol lol lol lol

Well, I think I will have another (beer) to celebrate.

Thanks guys for the heads up. I'm sure I made the right decision.

Jay asked me if I would go to a bigger cam in the future. He said he would change some of the porting to allow for the bigger cam. But, I really think I will stay with the tr cam I have. I have to keep reminding myself my wife drives the car on top down weather days, and the car needs to have "like stock" manners for her . I keep telling her to drive it like she stole it, but she can't. I like the power, she likes the vert. As long as it stays streetable, and doesn't rock and roll (like a big cam), I can keep modding

I will be very happy to get a 420-430 without a tune. It may or may not happen. I did squeeze 390 with just a cam. Will find out in Atlanta at the f-body gathering. I have made all my dynos there. Trying to keep the dyno place the same.

You should gain ~40 rwhp easy with those heads. That will be a killer setup, IMO. I like the "mild" street-friendly setups as much or more than I do the wild setups.

Thats what I like as well. A car that sounds very mild, but will put down 430 on the dyno.

Ohhh, just let the wife know. And she's all good. Time for more

also what kind of flow numbers are they getting out of these heads with the different valve sizes and port jobs. All I saw on the site were valve sizes and port volumes which didn't really tell me anything.
