Whats the difference's of the 12 pts and Hex? Other then the obivious.

Other than the obvious, the 12 points will reportedly allow you to re-torque the heads without having to remove valvetrain hardware.

Use a pencil or dowel rod to plumb the depth of the bolt holes. Early blocks will have 2 different depths, later blocks are all the same.

As S10xGN reports, if the bolts are two different lengths you have the early block and if the bolts are all the same length you have a later block.

ok i looked at the head bolts the top and bottom ones are all the same length in the middle the two ends are shorter shorter than the 3 in the middle so im guessing its a early block?

12-pt part number is 234-4316 and I believe the 6-pt part number is 234-4110. We have both on the shelf if you need them! Give us a call!
