Torquer v3 vs. EPS
It's not my logic it's Patrick G's... so why don't you tell him that! I was comparing the eps to the torquer anyways, not your cam motion grind...

Torquer v.3 here..made 430whp through the 9" ls6 intake, magnaflow catback. Plan on doing a pat g custom grind soon though..no complaints on the v3, valvetrain is a littley noisey, but not saying its the v3's fault

I didnt measure them, didnt care to. I could tell by looking at them that they were a hell of a lot steeper then the TR cam I pulled out (which I believe has a lobe intensity rate of 49). The cam is cut specifically on a small base-circle to help the valve open and shut very quickly. They base circle was significantly reduced from the Thunder cam which was already reduced from stock. A+B=C

No really, I dont get it. You say if you want a silent valvetrain go with EPS. Are you saying that no other cams can produce silent valvetrains? Did Patrick G tell you that ONLY EPS cams provide silent valvetrains? Seriously help me understand exactly what you are saying. I have heard a ton of cams and most have been silent, including a Torquer V3.

I've gotta have 01ss back on the whole silent valvertrain topic. My buddy just put a TV3 on his camaro w/ patriot duels, quiet sounding. Between my EPS cam and his Torquer 3, you can't really tell the difference in sound. Both a quiet.

Not impossible some 224 cams have been right around 400. And cams like the xer273 sometimes over. Add 15-20 for 243s and + or - a few ponies on how well it gets tuned and ur close to those #s... there is someone on here making over 500rwhp with heads and a torquer cam can't remember what heads. I don't c a 224ish cam going that far but who knows how much #s can vary. Its hard to decide on cams specially when so many have been proven... there have been some bigger eps cams done with results not as good as the above post. All cams no matter where they come from will vary car to car motor to motor shop to shop to many variables involved.
While I think the EPS are good lobes, they are not some mythical magical lobe that is going to net you more xx% more power. Easier on the valvetrain?! Possibly, but dual springs should be changed out every 10-15k regardless.
Sewing machine sound IMO for the most part is dual springs (esp cheap ones), using PAC 1518 beehives will quiet them down alot and is what EPS typically recommends. You can run those springs on an XER cam as well and it would quiet it down too.
Valve events are going to be WAY more important then subtle differences between the lobes out today. Throw the best lobes on shitty specs and you have a shitty cam.

94 S Dime, those are some really good numbers 430 rwhp with your mods, what kind of dyno was that on?I really like the eps cams,I will let ya know how much after I swap one in for my ms4,Pat G knows his stuff and I have been shocked by the numbers he has got out of the smaller, mid size cams.Torquerv3 is also a nice cam, good luck man picking a cam took me forever,I spent hours reading and on the phone with Tsp,they were a lot of help and great to deal with.
