slp headers help!!
I just installed some new slp headers on my 2000 camaro ss and they came with a y pipe and high flow cats..I also have straight pipes..I got the car today and after i finished putting gas..the service engine light came out I checked almost everything and it seems to be good and tight..what can it be??
its prolly a sensor somewhwere,,,First check all your O2 sensors, then the coolant temp sensor, make sure they are all plugged in. If you dont find anything have the code read and it will tell you what is wrong. autozone can do this for you.
That is normal when putting on headers. Insufficient switching, is what the codes are for. The o2 sensors wont get hot enough to keep the PCM happy. You have to turn off the enablers in the PCM via a tuning software.
As stated above double check any wires and sensor plugs around where you worked or get it scanned to find out what the codes are for. But likely it's from the o2 sensors.
