Thumbs up LS1 Head Comparison Website

http://aaronmurray.com/default.asp?p...dflow_view.asp

Well, I got tired of keeping track of head flow numbers in a spreadsheet, so I created a dynamic page that has the data. The cool part is that the data can be sorted and graphed dynamically so I don't have to horse around with it anymore.

I'd like to have some more data to put on the site...I only have about 10 heads up so far.

NOTE TO MFGs/PORTERS: Send me your flow data and I put it on the site or direct you to a link that will allow you to enter it yourself if you choose. Please include:
Base head (ls1, ls6, lm7, etc)
Intake Valve Size
Exhaust Valve Size
Flow Bore Diameter
Stage and name for the head (ex: Stg 1X)
Does the head have any welding?
Flow numbers for lifts:
.050
.100
.200
.300
.400
.500
.550
.600
.650
.700

Let me know what you guys think and what upgrades I could make. I already have planned:
calculate I/E ratio automatically

EDIT: You need to accept the chart download (1 MB) to see the 3D graphs

Only problem I see is that these are advertised numbers. Flow the heads on the same bench, same day at an independent shop.

I agree with you Mikey...but I don't know of a better way (than taking adv #s). There are other things that this doesn't take into consideration like chamber volume or quality of parts used...what to do...

Let's just hope the adv #s are close...if the shop is known for posting bogus #s or making false claims, then I won't post the data.

BTW, do you have any flow #s? I'll post your data if you send it to me (soslols1 @ yahoo.com)

We should get a flow test going...we can all bring out heads to same place, same time...and do it...just need 5-10 of us to get a real handle on whos keepin up flow wise.

Here is OUR newest flow numbers we have been using lately on Bears car and the last blower project.

Ferrea 2.02's and 2.05's tested.
.100 71
.200 151
.300 216
.400 260
.450 278
.500 297
.550 312
.600 321 Bruzinsky 3.90 LS1 bore slider.

.100 74
.200 156
.300 218
.400 271
.450 288
.500 298
.550 318
.600 329 Bruzinski 4.125 slider same head different bore size.
.700 337
.750 341

These are regular LS1 856 car castings but I have a set of 5.3 heads flowing the same numbers 216-218 cc's of volume. Really for a fair comparo that would be cool is to document for the record is to have the major porters to meet at one neutral shop, (Thunder perhaps?) show up with one intake valve, everyone with a head of the same casting # with there seat pre-cut to the porters prefrence and let everyone port there own runner right there on the spot, then document them right there on the same bench same day. Who would be willing to sponsor this? where would this be held? Would any serious porters want to do this?

Joe, If you can send me a head like this then I have a monthly royalty check for you. Considering the employee at SAM that did the Judson Massingill head we have now works for us and we have never seen anything like this. I'll even send you a round trip plane ticket so the head doesn't have to leave your sight.

Thanks Brian,

Give a call to the shop and you can set something up with Joe D, those numbers ARE real + or - 1-2% on other benches. A CNC on that port is definatly in order. BTW were kicking major *** with the 4.6 2003 Cobra heads too.

Nice work. A price comparison table might also be helpful.
Have any of the sponsors posted flow numbers for their stg 2 or stg3 6.0L heads?

Nice I noticed that the MTI LS1 2E heads and the PP LM7 stage 1 heads are almost identical. Way off subject but I think it is cool as hell that you built your own arcade machine. It says you had a PC in it. Could you play all of your old favorites in one machine? Also I assume the joystick and buttons worked like normal?

Yeah, about 3000+ arcade games...almost every game through Mortal Kombat 3, NBA Jam TE, etc...good times. There is no keyboard - everything is controlled through the joysticks and buttons. Good times. more info: www.arcadecontrols.com

Yes...I used to monitor that...but I didn't want to have false $$ info up there when the prices changed and I didn't get an email...that would be jacked for the shops

When you say LM7, do you mean a 5.3 head?
