The trick is not to compare cams at .050 lift only.
Look at all the different lifts and you would get a clearer picture, thus better understanding the "profile" and what it does in an engine during the strokes.

so its more about the overall profile. say if I made a graph of where the valve was every say 5 degrees of rotation id see that the lobe profile does with the valve.

I made this pic up to help describe how Cam Motion designs their lobes in a laymen kind of way. Basically what I have drawn is a more traditional cam on the left, and a cam with a smaller base circle on the right. Both cams when measured from the center dot have the exact same lift amount. But by simply changing the base circle only, it makes the ramp much more aggressive and more triangle like. Getting things done quick and getting them over quick.

You know what they say.....a picture is worth a thousand words. And its funny bc thats exactly what the cam looked like holding it in your hand when comparing it to the Thunder 224 that came out.

haha oh yeah. I didnt notice a big difference from stock doing my buddies 233/239. then again we just eyeballed it. What cam are you running? btw im trying to see if i can get a cheap set of 918s and if it falls through im definitely going with the lunatis. youve got me sold on those. still runnin strong i assume

Ha ha my car is about as tall as my old lady's SUV. Its under the knife for a motor mount swap, and a different exhaust. Last exhaust has 1400 miles, time to try something different. Its a sickness And Im running the CM 228/232 shelf cam, their grind, their lobes, bought directly through them....and the reason I did that is bc it was very highly recommended from a veteran LS mechanic and sponsor that I trusted.

yeah I gotcha Im running a comp just under obviously, its in the sig. as for exhaust ive got pacesetters into tsp ORY then 3.5 in mufflex catback (there might be a cutout somewhere in the catback) but it sounds really good. gives the car the rumble it needs but very driveable and not obnoxious in the car on long trips

I just looked at that pic again, i have a solid roller for a SBC in the floor at the shop its something like a 256/259 .660 lift 109 lsa circle track cam that i picked up a while back. and the base circle is practically pencil thin compared to any other cam Ive seen. the lobes are actually bulged wider than the base circle
