I understand that the numbers are probably too high, but I can tell you it's not an ego think. I can care less. The car's paid for and after the cam install and tune it really runs great. So many are just content to buy a car like a Z06 and do nothing to it. I can't do that, I love to work on motors and I really enjoyed working on the LS6. The last motor I built was a 383 in a 72 Z28 and I had $11,000 in it so I know how some of you guys feel when you spend big bucks. Anyway the tuner did a good job and I'm happy the shop is only about 5 miles from my house. I guess the numbers are about like going to the track and getting your picture with Dale Jr., it doesn't mean your his best friend just because you got a picture.
The dyno is configured with a 2.1 parasitics mult. and a 1916.71 equivalent weight.... vehicle weight was at 3200lbs and 15.6 hp at 50.... this will get you close to dynojet numbers...(for argument sake)....and runs were made in 4th gear...
The car when brought to me was misfiring from being so rich....that's why it only made 330whp on its first pull....the gains were true and the car was running a nice 12.8:1 AFR with 25* timing on 93oct....I did NOT fudge any numbers to impress and would never dream of it...ENJOY!!

Thanks Jack for the info, you did a great job on my Z. The tune is great and I'm glad you chimed in on the thread. I love it when someone is proud of their work, and I'm sure proud of your work that for sure.

My experience with trying to make a Mustang Dyno read like a Dynojet is you can not make it accurate at all Hp levels. If you fudge the calibration to make it read close to a Dynojet at say a 300 Hp level it will be way off on a higher Hp car. It is best to just leave it calibrated like Mustang says to calibrate it.

If I get banned, so be it. His job was to tune my car. That he done very well. I could give a s**t about the HP. It was just a number to show the gains in the tune. Where in the F**k do you get off? Do you own a dyno? What makes you a better expert than someone who does own a dyno? Do you pay your families bills with the money you earn dyno'd cars? Are you even a mechanic? I was really thrilled with this forum and I was really happy about my car's performance at the tune. You guys need to get a life!
I am glad you are happy Paul....that is what matters to me. And I am sorry if anyone feels I have misrepresented his dyno numbers in anyway...they arent important to me...only the gains. as long as the gains are there I can rest assured knowing I have done my job correctly. The dyno is a tuning tool... its not a race track.
Gains are Gains & Loses are Loses, when tuning this is all that matters.
Changing the Parasitics Multiplier will "not" effect how the Dyno loads, it only changes how the numbers are displayed in the end. There are calibration measurements made by accelerating the rollers to certain speed, place the car in neutral or clutch in & letting the rollers coast down, this is done several times. Parasitic curve is the fancy name, if I remember correctly. The Multiplier is used to caculate from that curve what final numbers are displayed, no effect to loading.
Thanks BoostCry for clarifying your Dyno Parameters!

You are incorrect sir if you are referring to a stock LS1 powered C5 and a stock LS1 4th gen F body. The independent rear suspension on the C5 uses more HP to get the power to the rear wheels than the more efficient straight axle in the F body car. I have seen it happen dozens of times when the stock F body put down 10 -12 more RWHP than the stock C5 Corvette. Those engines made the same HP in the real world but GM rated the C5 engine higher on paper to feed the egos of all the Corvette owners.

zo6's dyno anywhere from 420-450whp, depending on dyno, cam size, and supporting mods...

Thanks, I enjoyed installing the cam in the LS6. I've done many an install on the old style motor but this was the first in a LS. It was fun, everyone needs to do it, it's really worth it in the end. When I pull away from a stop light with my Borla Stinger exhaust it really sound great. And I want to say thanks to everyone on this forum who helped with info.

... but not realistic with the mods to the car. 400-405 rwhp would be alot more realistic numbers for that combo.
