Default no heater

The temp guage shows normal. Put a new thermastat in today. Heater hoses are hot. I found the lower radiator hose to be cold. How is this possible and still hold 190 degrees driving down the road. I have a new radiator in it as well. Why am I not getting any flow.

I plumed the bleeder hose into the top of the water pump. I have a new radiator cap, and a new heater core.

The motor is 2005 5.3

I'm confused, your title states "no heater" then you say the heater hoses are hot? What "flow" are you talking about not getting? The heater loop comes off ahead of the t'stat, so maybe the heater loop is supplying enough cooling and the t'stat doesn't need to open. Don't know where you are located, but if it's real cold, that could happen..

Hi,
remove radiator cap(use caution if hot-hot) start engine and see if you have circulation,AFTER THE THERMOSTAT OPENS. The vacuum on the heater/controls allows the unit to defrost/heat. You may want to check these items. Have a blessed day.....

After reading through some of the coolant problems others have posted, I drilled a couple holes in the thermastat and it now works fine.
