What caused it to break? Did it drop a valve or what?

If the block isn't hurt, you can put a set of forged pistons and rods and spray it then or you can build something like a 370 or 408 iron motor and go that route. Iron will definitely be cheaper if you can not reuse your block.

good advice, if you dont want to mess with rebuilding then pick up an lq4 or lq9 which is an iron 6.0l engine found commonly in trucks and vans at a junkyard. It will be stronger then the stock ls1 engine by a fair amount but not as strong as a forged setup obviously. Its is a pretty painless swap.

If you do switch cams get one with a good exhaust split like the 233/239 you want something that pushes the air out since the nitrous is getting the power in the engine.
